The Sales Strategy: Attracting Trades & Childcare Clients in Edmonton

To succeed as a freelance web designer, trying to sell to “everyone” is a recipe for getting lost in the noise. By focusing on two local Edmonton niches—trades contractors and childcare centers—I created a targeted sales strategy that solves their unique pain points.

1. The Trades Niche: Speed and Proof

Plumbing, electrical, and roofing contractors don’t care about abstract design concepts. They care about two things: phone calls and credibility. Their site needs to load instantly on mobile (for emergency calls) and show high-quality images of their completed local work immediately. Our sales strategy focuses on building mobile-optimized call-to-action sites with custom quote calculators.

2. The Childcare Niche: Trust and Enrollment

Childcare owners have a different problem: licensing regulations and parent registration paperwork. A site for daycares must establish safety, warmth, and make it incredibly easy for parents to download enrollment packets or join waitlists. We position our design packages as administrative time-savers, not just digital brochures.
